Barbara L. Kurman, Au.D.

>Barbara L. Kurman, Au.D.Barbara Kurman, Au.D., has been a clinical audiologist since 1978. She obtained her Au.D. in 2002. She served as a clinician, clinical supervisor, and coordinator in a major metropolitan medical center before joining a special equipment distributor company. In 1991, she and two partners formed Northeastern Technologies Group, a special equipment distributorship serving New York and New Jersey, and in 2001, formed Midlantic Technologies Group with a fourth partner serving the Mid-Atlantic states. She has served as President of the Metropolitan Audiology study Group, Co Chair of the New York State Speech- Language- Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) Convention, and served on the NYSSLHA Executive Board. Dr. Kurman is a Past President of the National Association of Special Equipment Distributors (NASED) and served on the NASED Executive Board. She was awarded the 2009 distinguished Service Award by the New York State Speech-Language and Hearing Association. She has co-authored several articles and chapters of text books related to instrumentation and is a regular guest lecturer at regional Au.D. and graduate programs.
