Angela S. Pond, Au.D., FAAA, LtCol, USAF (ret) earned a B.S. Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1981 and a M.A. Degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1983. She earned the Au.D. in 2002 from Central Michigan University. Following two positions in a private audiology practice and a medical center, she entered the United States Air Force in 1985. Her assignments included Lackland AFB, TX, Wiesbaden, Germany, Keesler AFB, MS, Warner Robins AFB, GA and Landstuhl Medical Center, Germany. A former President of the Military Audiology Association (2004), she worked to promote the collaboration between DoD Audiologists and Department of Veterans Affairs Audiologists, bringing these groups under the umbrella organization, Association of Federal Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists. While in the military, LtCol Pond provided cradle to grave audiological support, resident training, hearing conservation program management, and hearing aid rehabilitation for children and adults. She retired in 2009 after serving as Chief, Audiology and Speech Pathology Clinic at three major DoD Medical Centers, as well as serving as Chief, Occupational Health Clinic at a base with a civilian workforce of 25,000 . At retirement, she moved to SW Washington State, and now works at the Portland VA Medical Center as a staff audiologist.
